SUMMARY of the 2009 Educational Activity Day
ANNOUNCING UDC ATTENDEES
UDC Volunteers & the Cozumel Sports Club will be hosting an Educational Activity Day to allow the local children from Cozumel to experience and learn about the beauty in the underwater world . Children will view educational DVD's produced by Annie Crawley ("Who Lives In The Sea" www.diveintoyourimagination.com), some will actually participate in Discover Scuba activities by experiencing diving for the first time, some will compete in a Fish Life Drawing Contest while others will use their talents to design SAND ART.
Their talent and participation will be recognized in an Awards & Recognition Ceremony that will precede the UDC Thursday Evening Voting Ceremony.

- Hotel Cozumel Resort / Pool Side
- Discover Scuba Local Children 12 to 15 years old
- Limited to 30 children -- Three 45 minute sessions each
- Time : 2:00 to 5:00
- Pre-Registration Required & Waiver Must be signed
- NEEDS: Instructor volunteers, equipment for 10 children, bc/regs/fins/mask/snorkels/tanks. If you know children that would like to register to attend please let me know -- this is limited space.
Classroom Activity & Drawing Contest or Sand Art (Ages 5-10 for Sand Art & 8-12 for Drawing Contest)
- Thursday Afternoon, August 6
- Hotel Cozumel Convention Center
- Limited to 100 children (50 for drawing contest & 50 for sand art)
- Time 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.
- Pre-Registration Required
- NEEDS: Teacher volunteers, preferably those that know the SEA, printed materials, visuals, coloring/drawing materials, sand/art materials, judges , certificates, & prizes.
I am asking all attendees for this year's UDC event to bring prizes -- fish books in spanish, stuffed sea animals, puzzles, etc. and for each to bring a SAND ART KIT. We are also seeking prize donations from businesses in Cozumel, ex. dolphin encounters, dolphinia, Atlantis sub trips, sting ray experience, movie tickets, Chankanaab passes and any ideas that EACH of you may have some great ideas for this as well. The day will end with an awards ceremony for the kids followed by the voting ceremony for the Ultimate Diver Challenge and the kids/families will be invited to stay and see all that goes on.
