Neutral Buoyancy Control Challenge
- Divers will swim out to the designated buoy descend to the platform and begin traveling through a series of hoops without touching them. The hoops are set at various depths and distances on the platforms. All divers will start with ____ points. You will lose one point for each contact with the hoops. Bonus points will be scored for cork screw swims through the hoops, upside down swim through, and hovering in a stationary point for a minimum of ___ seconds. Bonus points will be used for tie breakers.
Serial Number Recovery
- Divers will swim on the surface to the first suspended marker, then descend to 20 feet. Divers will locate the first of 7 coordinates located on a slate that will provide bearings for divers to follow. All coordinates will be found suspending from the surface at 20 feet. At each point divers must copy down serial numbers that correspond with their team number. Divers have a maximum of 45 minutes to complete this task. Divers will be given 10 points for each coordinate successfully located. Divers will lose 5 points if total bottom time exceeds 45 minutes. Divers will lose 10 points for each time you surface to reorient your team to assist in finding other markers. Your computer times will be recorded incase of tie breaker. The team completing the team the fastest will be declared the winner.
Trouble in the Water Relay Challenge
- Divers start at the buoy and descend to the platform at 20 feet. Dive Buddy's remain side by side during this the entire challenge. Diver one descends from platform one across the guide rope to platform two with their mask off. The diver replaces their mask and clears, giving the buddy signals of okay upon completion. Then Diver two removes mask and swims from platform two back to platform one using the guide rope. . Diver one will doff BC and push the BC from Platform one over to Platform two following the guide rope, diver will don BC , signals to show Okay and then Diver two removes BC pushing it back to platform one, replaces BC and signals okay. Divers Ascend, Diver one buddy tows diver two to the designated buoy, divers then switch off so that diver two tows diver one back. Divers will be timed. Divers with the fastest recorded time will be the winner of this event.
